Completion of Electric Boulevard billed as London’s newest high street

Next phase of Gehry & Partners development is fully underway

Battersea Power Station continues to transform, and as someone local to the area, it’s interesting to see the latest changes taking shape on the ground.

Following planning approval announced in May 2025, the next phase of the wider development will bring two new residential buildings designed by Gehry Partners, adding over three hundred homes to the area. The plans also include new shops, cafés and restaurants, a community hub and facilities for older residents, further expanding the neighbourhood around the iconic Power Station.

The development will extend Electric Boulevard, creating more space for shopping, dining and community life. The new buildings will also continue the distinctive architectural style of Frank Gehry’s existing Prospect Place buildings - a contemporary contrast to the Power Station’s historic industrial architecture.

The building complex for Battersea Power Station is Frank Gehry's only residential project in the UK. There are hopes for it to become as iconic an address as the historic Nash Terraces surrounding Regent's Park; buildings that were referenced in Gehry's design. The rippled white exterior is designed to provide each residential unit with a bright, light-filled, protected semi-outdoor space overlooking the district.
