The building, by American architect Frank Gehry, left other down-at-heel cities wondering if they could build an ‘iconic’ building to improve their prospects, increase visitors and income, as Bilbao has done.
Local charity World Heart Beat is celebrating its new venue to open in Nine Elms this Autumn with the launch of 6 music performance videos.
The gardens of the US Embassy with its water features and prairie-style planting have started to show their maturity this year. This month the 'grasslands' have been cut back so are looking a little sparse, but will benefit from the clearing to seed and grow back stronger towards summer.
